PILLAR 1: Community Integration
​The Awakening Ottawa web portal is intended to bring together a variety of individuals, groups, and communities in the National Capital Region, such as holistic practitioners, nonprofit orgs, naturopathic clinics, health & wellness shops, holistic nutrition schools, buddhist & meditation centres, indigenous communities, and various peace groups. The range of topics includes everything from yoga, sound healing, natural nutrition, and energy healing, to body work, holistic counselling therapies, heart centred marketing, and spiritual speaker events. Whether you are from Ottawa-Gatineau, another Canadian city, or visiting from abroad, you should be able to find out everything that's happening in Ottawa's vibrant holistic and spiritual communities.

PILLAR 2: Events Calendar
​From sound healing festivals to yoga teacher trainings, to spiritual speaker events, to cosmic fairs, to annual peace festivals – Ottawa is host to a massive number of exciting and transformative events. Our events calendar will be designed as a one-stop shop for you to discover any and all events taking place in the Ottawa Gatineau region that fall into the categories of spirituality, consciousness, holistic healing, and transformation.

PILLAR 3: Spiritual Initiatives
​A variety of initiatives are planned for Awakening Ottawa in 2018 (and beyond), including (1) Amateur Spiritual Standup; (2) Heart Centred P.E.A.C.E. Meditation Project; (3) Canadian Spiritual Author Consortium (2019); (4) Holistic Counselling Centre; (5) Three Day Science & Spirituality Conference (2020).

PILLAR 4: Peace Building
​Launched over a decade ago by Bill Bhaneja and Ottawa colleagues, the Canadian Peace Initiative (CPI) is a grassroots political movement with chapters across the country that has been working diligently towards establishing a Department of Peace at the Federal Level. Every year, CPI holds its Annual Ottawa Peace Festival featuring 20+ free events geared to bring awareness to the ongoing peace initiative.

PILLAR 5: Inspired Fundraising
​To be successful, all great initiatives need the right kind of energy, community support, and financial resources. It's essential to have decent start-up money to create enough momentum to get a project off the ground. The Awakening Ottawa Alliance plans to use a variety of innovative fundraising sources including: crowdfunding, Canadian patronage, fundraising events, and online marketing campaigns.
